These are Magic Shorts

Carmen finally let out her breath. ‘These are magic pants.’

Before America Ferrera delivered her iconic Barbie monologue she was first Carmen of Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. The basic premise of the book/movie is 4 friends find a pair of jeans that magically fit each of them despite their vastly different body types. Even as the friends go through life transitions and are apart from each other they continue to mail the pants back and forth for each girl to wear in her season of need.

When I started PHNX, I wanted to create shorts designed to move + grow with women in all seasons of life. I watched friends go through pregnancy and postpartum and I wanted to create athletic clothes that supported them in these seasons. Still, I was not in that season of life and I wanted to be able to wear the shorts as well. As we’ve grown and I experienced my own pregnancy, I am even more excited about the shorts. They truly work in all seasons. As I thought about how to communicate our ideal customer I was torn - is it the runner training for her 3rd marathon? Is it the new mom pregnant for the first time? Is it the mom chasing 3 littles around? The answer is yes! These shorts are designed for not just all seasons, but all body types.

These are magic shorts.

As PHNX grows, I can’t wait to create more clothes designed to move + grow in all seasons of life. For now, I’ll be shouting from the rooftop “These are magic shorts!”
